The 20-Minute Check: Is Your SEO Ready for AI Answers?
You don't need an expensive audit to find out whether your website is ready for AI search. You need about twenty minutes and an honest look at six things.
1. Does each key page answer one question clearly?
Open your main service pages. Does the first paragraph say what you do, for whom, and where? If a visitor has to scroll through a story first, so does an AI tool.
2. Do you have a real FAQ?
Not "Why choose us?" with a pitch. Real questions customers ask: price, timelines, how it works, what areas you serve. Write the answers in plain language.
3. Are your business details identical everywhere?
Your website, Google Business Profile and directory listings should show the same name, address and phone number. Small differences confuse both search engines and AI tools.
4. Is your site fast on a phone?
Open it on mobile data. If it takes more than a few seconds, fix it first. Speed helps every kind of search.
5. Do you have recent reviews?
Recent, specific reviews tell people (and systems) that you're active and trusted. Reply to them, including the not-so-good ones.
6. Are you mentioned outside your own site?
Directories, local articles, Q&A answers, social profiles. Mentions across the web help show you're a real business and not just a website.
How did you score?
- 5 or 6 yes: Your SEO is in good shape and you're on the right track. Add FAQs and wider mentions for the AI layer.
- 3 or 4 yes: Fix the gaps first. They help you everywhere.
- 0 to 2 yes: Start with the basics. Don't chase new acronyms yet.
One more test
Ask an AI tool something a customer would ask, like "best [your service] in [your city]." See whether you appear and whether what it says about you is right. That tells you where to focus.
If you'd like help with the audit, Designogram does this for local businesses in Ludhiana and across India.
Good SEO is still the most reliable way to be ready for whatever search looks like next.
